We boomeranged back to 72andSunny NY in 2025 to join the Google Search team. While we were no strangers to building small animated worlds, this was our first time using AI to create a campaign, for Google’s “Just Ask Google” holiday shopping campaign.

Trying to make real people look charming with AI was proving more alarming than charming, so we took a different approach: an animated world full of holiday chaos, starring one very stressed penguin we named Penguini.

Partnering with Hornet to help us smooth out the kinks of animating with AI and making sure that the character and his adorable traits were the same throughout each spot. We brought Penguini to life across 10 films, each highlighting a different way Google Shopping could take the stress out of holiday shopping.
