Caring for pets can feel complicated and expensive, but Petco was about to launch Vital Care, a pet health and wellness membership for cats and dogs that saves pet parents both time and money.

By saving pet parents around $400 a year in nutrition, routine vet visits, grooming, and litter, you could say that a Petco Vital Care membership pays for itself. We say it’s just smart Petconomics.

Our campaign featured cats and dogs seemingly demonstrating how much money members can save on routine care, but ultimately just enjoying the many benefits of the membership plan. Our Petco world is simple, with colorful economic elements like graphs and charts made of pet items provided through the Vital Care program. Our headlines were just as simple, with pet-approved language that further explains your new favorite financial term for maintaining a healthier pet for a healthier budget - Petconomics.

Not only did we get a few write ups in Forbes and AdWeek, but the campaign brought in 160,000 new Vital Care members with projections by CEO Ron Coughlin of reaching one million members.
